The key areas businesses should consider when selecting an accounting system are less about a brand name and more about how the business actually invoices, pays, reports and files.
Software will not repair unclear processes on its own. It will, however, make a clear process faster and make a confused one more visible.
Questions to settle first
How many entities, currencies and users are involved? Do you need inventory, projects or a simple service ledger? Who approves purchases, who issues invoices, and which reports does management actually read?
Also consider VAT and corporate tax reporting, bank feeds, document storage, user permissions and whether e-invoicing will need to connect to the same system. A tool that cannot support those workflows will be replaced sooner than expected.
Implementation matters as much as selection
Chart of accounts design, opening balances, tax codes, customer and supplier records, and a short training plan decide whether the system is used properly after go-live. Migrating history without checking opening balances simply moves old errors into a new screen.
Prime Perfect assists with software selection support, configuration, data migration, workflow setup and training so the system matches the way the business operates.
